Notes
Sesquipedalianism, which means "Given to using long words", is the latest in Lothar & Matthew's famous "Word of the Day" album series, which so far includes Scintilla, Odium, and the Draconian Panacea EP. The album was first conceived and basic tracks created in May and June 2010, during a period of personal turmoil for Lothar. Further work was completed throughout Summer 2010, with some overdubs added in Summer 2011. The album is heavily influenced by Muslimgauze and each song features sampled instrumentation from various songs from that prolific and unusual artist. The core sound for this album comes from the Muslimgauze samples, a variety of bass guitar approaches and Matthew's percussion sensibilities. Some melodies may have been recycled from leftover bars, chords, choruses, and time signatures found various musical alleyways. But let's face it...there's nothing original left in the world anyhow.
