I first got this on a cassette tape. It may still be playable, but it's getting too worn out. When I first noticed that, I decided to invest in a CD version, which doesn't cost too much. The CD doesn't include the Minuetto from Boccherini's String Quintet, Op. 13. I think of it as a Classical Era piece, anyway. As for the inclusion of the concerti by Alessandro Scarlatti and Giuseppe Tartini, well, in my opinion, OK. Some years after getting the CD version, I found the vinyl version at a flea market in very good or near mint condition. Maybe that's the version I'll keep. Always enjoyable!I thought I would add that my first time hearing the Adagio by Albinoni (and Giazotto) was from the Brass in Berlin album. It was slow, as we would expect from a piece with a title like "Adagio". And then came my first time hearing the one by Jörg Faerber and the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra, Heilbronn. That was my first favorite version. As I've heard a few other versions, I've notice the viola part that would come in, as compared to the Faerber version, it would be played on the organ. Either way, it sounded good to me (at least). The Karajan version (such as, the one featured in Karajan Forever), was too slow for me, like the Brass version but a little better(in my opinion). A couple of more of my favorites I would prefer (besides Faeber): The Guildhall String Ensemble (Strings - The Definitive Collection and Adagio for Relaxation) and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields (you would find it in various compilations, including The Most Relaxing Classical Album in the World... Ever! and Harmony).
