Restored in 16:9, as opposed to 4:3 as on previous DVDs. However, this does not mean that the aspect ratio of the picture has been compromised - on the contrary, since the 4:3 frame shaves off some of the original 16mm picture. On this DVD, the picture takes up more space on the screen (approx. 1.40:1 instead of 1.33:1) - even though this means some of the resolution is lost to the black side bars. Also, the format is NTSC as opposed to the higher resolution PAL found on for example The Definitive Collection.
